Have Fun With Baby Jewelry

Sure there are some Kardashian like moms out there that probably think of a baby as the ultimate fashion accessory. However, there are actually many reasons why women give their young ones jewelrysometimes as soon as a few weeks after birth.

 Why Jewelry? Why Babies?

Sometimes baby jewelry is used for identification purposes. Why use a name tag like a pet when you can give the little guy or girl a beautiful necklace? Some babies actually love wearing jewelry as it helps bond them with their mother and perhaps even start a lifelong interest in jewelry and stones.

How about baby jewelry for photogenic faces? Yes, if you just love taking family pictures just imagine how beautiful the scene might be if your young one is wearing a necklace or a bracelet of special value. Its not only adorable, its downright uplifting to the soul. Its not all about lookssometimes its about the sentiment. For the rest of your life, your family will remember the significance of the jewelry given.

Jewelry for Babies is All About the Thought Behind the Shine

This brings us to another reason: the spiritual gift. It is common to put jewelry on a baby or toddler for religious functions, such as baptisms, christenings and other events. Its not for show but a very important symbol of faith and spirituality. Many families take great pride in this and do not merely buy cheap baby jewelry, but actually pass on family heirlooms from mother to son or daughter, and then the cycle repeats itself one generation later.

Better yet, years later grown families can reminisce about the past by discussing baby jewelry. Just imagine the joy of it all and grandma and mama and grown daughter all trade jewelry stories! Its a beautiful moment that will live on in your heart and in the hearts of your relatives for years on end.

Remember you have your pick of exotic jewelry, whether your favorite items are bracelets, rings, pendants and necklaces or pins. Why not start looking for jewelry made for a baby today? It makes for a great sentimental gift! Best of all, its easy to find as you can search online through a store or auction. There is a wide variety of selections to choose from!

How To Clean Emerald Rings

Emerald rings are considered the second best choice after diamonds. Though emeralds are one of the most beautiful and durable gemstones, it is essential to be careful while cleaning them. Read on to find out some useful tips on how to clean emerald rings.

The experts say that emerald rings can get spoiled if they are not treated with care. One has to be regular in cleaning the jewelry containing emeralds because they need to be preserved. One should keep them packed in soft cloth separate from other pieces of jewelry when not in use. This ensures that this precious gemstone is safe from scratches or any other damage. Also, emeralds do not like temperature changes so one has to be careful about that too.

An emerald ring should be cleaned with a soft cloth, preferably lint-free on regular basis. You should polish it with a towel for at least a couple of minutes. It is important to do so to ensure the dirt particles do not stick to the ring or the gemstone. This also ensures that any left out particles of the oil are removed and the dirt particles do not get piled up in the metal setting of the ring.

Frequently the emerald ring should be cleaned with water and soap. For this, one should use a bowl full of warm water along with mild detergent. The ring should be dipped in this water for a few minutes. This removes any lingering dirt particles from the ring. Another benefit of using this home-made solvent is that it does not contain any additional chemicals. This makes it safe to be used for emerald rings. It not only cleans the ring but also ensures that the emeralds in the ring are safe.

You should also, at times, scrub the emerald ring with a toothbrush or any other soft brush. Be careful not to put any scratch to the gemstone, as it is very delicate. Be conscious enough to scrub all the parts of the ring including the prong area. You can also take help of a jewelry brush. Always be gentle with your ring no matter which way you choose to clean it.

Another thing to keep in mind is to use only lukewarm water to rinse emerald rings. You should never use cold water from a running tap. Cold water is not sufficient enough to remove any remaining dirt particles from the ring. And, once a year you should take your emerald ring to a jeweler for professional cleaning. This adds to the durability and life of the ring and the emeralds used.
